Talk about motive.
A 19-year-old Tokyo college student allegedly attacked an elderly woman with an ax before choking her to death with a scarf because she “just wanted to kill someone”.
The unnamed student (under Japanese law, she is still a minor) struck 77-year-old Tomoko Mori with an ax several times before strangling her.
The young woman reportedly told investigators, “I have just wanted to kill someone since childhood. It could have been anybody.”
The woman came in contact with Mori when Mori tried to get her to join an unidentified religious group. Mori was killed in the woman’s apartment, and the girl apparently acquired the axe from a nearby junior high school.
The day of the murder, the young woman remorselessly tweeted, “I eventually did it.”
