Why I returned to @NGSuperEagles – Stephen Keshi

Nations Cup winning coach, Stephen Keshi, has given reasons why he returned to the team after getting the boot courtesy of the Amaju Pinnick-led Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) executive committee.

Keshi, who was the skipper of the 1994 African Cup of Nations winning team said he was cajoled to return to the side by an influential individual.

He said, “My boss asked me to come back, that is the sole reason for my coming back, it was simply because the boss ordered me back to the team, I cannot say no to him; we will see and continue from where we stopped working and keep building.”

Keshi, popularly known as the ‘Big boss’, had only good things to say about striker, Ike Uche, who has been away from the team for a while.

“It is good to see him back to them team, I am very happy to see him, players like him make a coach feel great.

“So far I’m impressed with what I have seen, there is a total commitment and cooperation between the players, if we can keep that level today, tomorrow up till Saturday we will be good,” he said.

The Super Eagles will depart Abuja for Congo via a chartered flight on Thursday ahead of their must-win 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against the Red Devils of Congo.
