Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, says he is confident that President Muhammadu Buhari will back his bid to probe and investigated the alleged massive corruption perpetrated by the administration of former governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
Wike said he shall remain focused in getting the job done, even though he’s sure that Amaechi’s administration will try to use propaganda to frustrate the investigations.
The governor said this on Friday, June 19, after receiving the final report of the Transition Committee of his administration.
On the same day, Wike inaugurated a seven-man Judicial Commission of Inquiry to investigate Amaechi’s administration.
The panel is expected to investigate the sale of Omoku 150 MW Gas Turbine; Afam 360 MW Gas Turbine; Trans-Amadi 136 Gas Turbine and Eleme 75 MW gas Turbine.
Also, the panel will look into the withdrawal and expenditure of the accrued N96 billion from the Rivers Reserve Fund without compliance with Rivers State Reserve Fund Law N0. 2 of 2008.
