Another APC crisis? Dogara, Gbajabiamila supporters fight in NASS lobby

The levee has broken for the second time in a few months, and the water pours over.

The All Progressives Congress party is about to witness the outbreak of another internal crisis as lawmakers of the ruling party, on Tuesday, turned the lobby of the Federal House of Representatives, into a battleground.

Supporters of the Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and the Majority leader, Femi Gbajabiamila, were the culprits of the fiasco.

The fight was as a result of the lingering disagreement between supporters of Dogara and Gbajabiamila over the constitution of the 96 Standing Committees of the House.

Herman Hembe, a pro-Dogara lawmaker, reportedly slapped a Gbajabiamila disciple, Magaji Aliyu over an argument on the composition of the Standing Committees.

Vanguard reports that the lawmakers’ fight would have escalated beyond that, but for the intervention of Deputy Speaker, Yussuf Lasun.

The fight between the APC lawmakers reportedly led to the late commencement of Tuesday’s plenary session, as the APC caucus convened an emergency meeting, to address the matter.
