Yams to the rescue: Audu Ogbeh to raise N5 billion for Buhari’s campaign

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, may soon get as much as N5 billion for his presidential campaign.

Former PDP National Chairman, Audu Ogbe will on January 4 inaugurate the sale of five million tubers of yam donated by farmers to raise N5 billion for the Buhari/Osinbajo presidential campaign.

The spokesperson of APC Micro Finance Cooperative Society Ltd, Felicia Yakzum, communicated the development via a statement on Thursday, January 1, in Jos, Plateau.

Yakzum disclosed that the yam sales would commence at Mararaban Demshin in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of the state.

She added that Ogbe was behind the yam initiative and has consequently, been appointed as chairman for the sales.

Furthermore, she revealed that APC had organised a New Year wrestling tournament and the “Job Opportunities for Osinbajo and Buhari Supporters (JOOBS)” would also be inaugurated.

Yakzum said: “We have constituted a committee charged with the responsibility of creating job opportunities for youth supporters of the Muhammadu Buhari/ Yemi Osinbajo ticket.”
