I have been an ardent follower of Nigerian films for many years. In those years, I have seen some beautiful and great films, and I have also seen some not-so-good films.
In recent times, I have also come to appreciate some actors who are very dexterous in their craft. Let me give you the list of some actors I’m in love with.
I love Wale Ojo because of the perfect style he interprets the character; playing out a role obviously comes to him naturally.
Now let’s talk about screen divas, I am in deep love with Dakore Egbuson and Funlola Aofiyebi. These two have been around since the late 90s into early millennia. Yet, their beauty after many years is still striking.
Dakore is as gorgeous as ever even after 3 kids. She is not only beautiful, she is a master in the game; little wonder why she’s been around for many years. I saw one of her films recently and she seems to be getting better daily like an old wine.
For Funlola Aofiyebi, ever since the days of Palace, a television series that she played the role of Kofoworola Baker (she called the name with so much elegance that you would be tempted to change your name to Baker, and name your child Kofoworola).
Funlola has since, consistently delivered top-notch acting in all her subsequent productions exuding unrivaled class and elegance. Another lady that has got my attention lately is Osas Ighodaro who carries this aura of freshness in her talent. It’s obvious that she’s got so much to offer the industry having trained under amazing directors like Tyler Perry.
Somehow, I started seeing myself fantasizing about seeing these actors together in one film. The first time I shared this thought with a friend, she discarded it on the grounds that it won’t be easy for any director to assemble them in one film except it’s a series.
Well, just when my fantasy was beginning to drain away, I heard the news of Entreat. Entreat is a film written and directed by Michael Asuelime and a production of BP Vision Ltd. The film parades a stellar cast that includes Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Funlola Aofiyebi, Sadiq Daba, Wale Ojo, Alexx Ekubo, Osas Ighodaro, Bryan Okwara, Wole Ojo, Ajibade Smart, Eku Edewor, Zainab Balogun, Kunle Coker, Stephanie Coker, Ms Aboaba, Queen Ahneva Ahenva and also featuring Pastor Femi Paul of Grace Assembly.
When I saw the cast for Entreat, I felt a sense of joy in me and said to myself “dreams truly come true.” Now, I am not only going to see my favourite actors, I will also see some other veterans like Sadiq Daba. What more can anyone ask for in the cast for a film?
I am confident that Entreat will be a great film not only because of the starry cast, but also for other important elements. Having followed Michael Asuelime and BP Vision productions for over 10 years now, I have come to trust the company for the quality in their work.
Michael has produced some of the best stage plays I have seen in this country. I remember seeing Mystery that featured Yemi Blaq, OC Ukeje and Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju; I also remember seeing Same Page that featured OC Ukeje, Wale Ojo, Nse Ikpe Etim and Kemi ‘lala’ Akindoju.
Michael has built a great reputation for himself in creating amazing productions and I do not see why Entreat will be different.
So you want to have my advice? Go see Entreat when it hits the cinemas and share the news with your friends and families; in fact, be an evangelist for the film and let’s support it all the way.
