Pete Edochie opens up about struggle to walk and body swelling

Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has opened up about his current health struggles, revealing that he has difficulty walking and sometimes experiences swelling in parts of his body.
The 79-year-old actor spoke during a visit to ailing Ghanaian actor Emmanuel Armah in Accra. Edochie, who offered financial support and prayed for Armah’s recovery, said he remains hopeful of getting better despite his challenges.
Edochie said the swelling sometimes affects his hands and other parts of his body before subsiding. He also expressed hope that Armah would recover, saying he believed his colleague would eventually pull through.
Nomy explains why she was disqualified from the BBN show

Former BBNaija housemate Nomy, whose real name is Whitney Chukwu, has opened up about her disqualification from the 2026 reality show, describing her experience as traumatising.
Speaking on the upcoming WithChude podcast, she said she was disqualified for repeatedly breaking house rules despite having only one strike. Nomy claimed her case was the first time a housemate’s disqualification had been revoked.
The reality star also revealed that she lost her mother young and has no relationship with her father. She said she entered the show focused on winning rather than making friends, adding that she saw the house as “enemy territory.”
D’Banj gifts three buses to support Olajengbesi’s 2027 bid

Singer D’Banj has donated three brand-new Sienna buses to lawyer and politician Pelumi Olajengbesi to support his bid for the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 House of Representatives election.
The vehicles were presented to Olajengbesi in Osogbo on Thursday. He said the donation came as a surprise after D’Banj initially requested his campaign branding contact for the singer’s CREAM project.
Olajengbesi, who previously served as spokesman for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election campaign, thanked D’Banj for the gesture. Afrobeats star Davido has also publicly supported his 2027 political ambition.

Paramount and Warner Bros. to become Skydance after $110bn merger

Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery will operate under the Skydance name once their planned $110 billion merger closes, Paramount CEO David Ellison announced on Friday. The deal is expected to be completed on October 6.
The merger will bring together Paramount+, HBO Max, and major networks, including CBS, CNN, MTV, TBS, and Comedy Central. It will also unite franchises such as The Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, DC and Yellowstone.
The agreement followed months of corporate negotiations and legal challenges from 12 US states. A judge approved a settlement this week, clearing a major hurdle for the merger.
