There are many recommended ways of solving infidelity issues in marriages, but Ruka Amoha, a housewife from the Dopemu area of Lagos, seems to have chosen the most bizarre of them all.

Ruka, who accused her neighbour, Yemi Adelani, of sleeping with her husband, bit a chunk off her nose to vent her anger.

The obviously combative woman, who alleged that her husband, Wasiu Amoha, starved her of sex for some months because he was enjoying an amorous affair with her neighbour, descended on Yemi and went straight for her nose in a move that will make Iron Mike Tyson green with envy.

Sounding unrepentant, Ruka, who already has three children, said: “I cannot accept a situation where Yemi is enjoying her husband and mine at the same time thus denying me the opportunity to enjoy my husband”.

Doctors at the Lagos General Hospital, Orile Agege confirmed that Yemi’s nose was badly damaged and would need plastic surgery to pull through.

According to PM News, Yemi, the victim, confirmed that Ruka had always wrongly accused her of sleeping with her husband, claiming Ruka’s action was motivated by needless jealousy.

Wasiu, the man whose ‘negligence’ precipitated Ruka’s outburst said he was not having sex with her because of her combative nature which doesn’t allow for romance between them both.

The police from Oke Odo Police Division later arrested Ruka and charged her for assault before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court sitting in Abule Egba.

She, however, pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mr. O.A. Komolafe granted her bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum; one of them must be her blood relation – ostensibly because no non-relation might want to stand surety for her anyway.

She was to be remanded in Kirikiri prison custody until she fulfils her bail condition. The case was adjourned till 24 August, 2012.
