BREAKING: Court of Appeal sacks David Mark

The Court of Appeal has nullified the election of former Senate President, David Mark.

The National and State Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal, had upheld the victory of Senator Mark of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

But Donald Onjeh of the All Progressives Congress challenged the decision of the tribunal, before the Appeal Court.

Onjeh’s lawyer, Adetunji Oso, argued that while the collation of results for the Benue South senatorial district’s election, was still ongoing in seven of the nine Local Government Areas, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), declared Senator Mark winner of the poll.

Consequently, on Saturday, November 28, the Makurdi division of the Court of Appeal ordered a re-run of the election within 90 days.
