Entertainment Roundup: Kanye West dumps Jay-Z’s Tidal and is unmoved by his 4.44 diss; Omawumi’s Timeless album is out | More stories

Here are the biggest stories from the weekend and others that unraveled while you slept – and are buzzing this Monday morning.

Kanye West walks out on Tidal

Rapper Kanye West has said goodbye to Jay-Z’s music streaming company, Tidal over claims the company owes him more than $3 million.

TMZ reports that Kanye’s issues with Tidal is two-pronged. First, his The Life of Saint Pablo album helped Tidal gain 1.5 million new subscribers and was to get a bonus for this but nothing was paid and secondly, Tidal refused to pay reimbursement for his music videos.

According to TMZ’s sources, “a month ago Kanye’s lawyer sent a letter to Tidal, saying the company was in breach and the contract was terminated. Over the next 2 weeks lawyers for both sides tried to resolve the conflict but failed.”

Tidal is set to sue Kanye if he decides to join another streaming company. They say he has an exclusive contract with them.

And because Kanye doesn’t give in to threats, he says he will sue Tidal right back. Let the games begin!

Kanye was spotted leaving his Calabasas studio and he looks totally unfazed by Jay-Z’s diss for him in the new 4.44 album.

Jay rapped “I know people backstab you, I feel bad too / But this f*** everybody attitude ain’t natural / But you ain’t the same, this ain’t KumbaYe / But you got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye / You gave him 20 million without thinkin’ / He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f*** was he thinkin’? / ‘F*** wrong with everybody?’ is what you sayin’ / But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane”.

Kanye rarely smiles but this look on his face maybe means he hasn’t heard Jay-Z’s song or he just doesn’t give a shit.

Omawumi’s Timeless album is out

It’s her third studio album.

It’s a 10-tracker produced by Cobhams Asuquo.

It was released by Cabal Entertainment under official licence by Roc Nation.

It’s a product of two years of hardwork. We are excited about it.

Adele damaged her vocal cords and broke many hearts

She had only two shows left in her concert. Two shows.

But Adele was unable to carry through as doctors told her she had damaged her vocal cords and she thought it was inappropriate to come up stage and lip-sync.

Adele expressed deep regret in a letter she shared on Instagram days after she had announced that she may never tour again.

The two shows were supposed to hold at Wembley stadium, London and fans had travelled from across the globe to watch Adele perform.

Soso Soberekon is done with Five Star Music

The general artiste manager who worked with the label for over 10 years has quit to launch his own entertainment company, White Lion Global.

Soberekon made the announcement via Instagram on Saturday.

It comes weeks after KCee who partly owns Five Star Music announced a new artiste manager for the label.

Adekunle Gold has new music

The ‘Orente’ singer premiered the new track at this One Night Stand tour over the weekend.

Produced by Pheelz and mixed by Simi, Call on Me is another love track by Adekunle Gold that has potential to get his fans busy as they await his next album.
