From an unexpected budget signing on Monday, the 12th of June – a.k.a 24 years after the Democracy Day that never was – to unexpected fires in parts of Europe and the notorious billionaire kidnapper in between, here are our top 10 photos from last week:
A wild forest fire in Portugal has reportedly killed 57 people and dozens injured in its wake.
London also suffered a fire incident last week when a 24-storey tower housing residents got razed by fire. At least a dozen people were confirmed dead by the end of the day with many more hospitalized. By the end of the week, the death toll had risen to more than 50.
Billionaire kidnap king pin, Evans, was caught by the Nigeria Police last weekend and he spent the whole of last week intimating Nigerians from his police custody about life as a kidnapper in Nigeria.
Pictured above are two of the houses reportedly owned by Evans the kidnapper.
Happy week for Senate President Bukola Saraki as the Code of Conduct Tribunal finally discharged and acquitted him of all charges of false declaration of assets and laundering. A rare photo of Isiaka Adeleke’s younger brother the moment when he abandoned APC for PDP hours after the former had transferred his late brother’s gubernatorial mandate to him. He’s now the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate in Osun. Jeff Sessions, the US Attorney-General is pictured above reading from his opening statement to the Senate Intelligence Committee before which he appeared on Monday to deliver a much anticipated but underwhelming testimony.
The 2017 Budget was finally signed by the Acting President Osinbajo on Monday evening
