#GhanaDecides: Results delayed as stats show Nana Akufo-Addo leading with over 500,000 votes

Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party will be pronounced winner of the Ghana Presidential election, Joy News, a leading news platform in the country has reported.

Akufo-Addo reportedly has 4,213,710 and needs 1,117,663 votes to cross the over 5m votes mark.

On the other hand, the NDC candidate and incumbent John Mahama has 3,710,702 votes from 206 constituencies provisionally declared.

The results show Akufo-Addo leading with over 500,000 votes as the declaration of results continue to be delayed.

The electoral commission is yet to announce results for 69 constituencies, 21 of which are in the NPP stronghold of the Ashanti and Eastern regions.

Joy News project it is almost statistically impossible for President John Mahama to achieve 50% + 1 from the undeclared regions.
