Oh, Weza! The Angolan beauty heads home alongside Alex & Miss P

by Wilfred Okiche

After weeks of scheming, playing, dealing and double-dealing, the chickens finally came home to roost for Angolan Weza. She was evicted from the Big Brother Amplified house in a live show yesterday night that also saw the backs of Botswana’s Miss P and Ghanian Alex.

Prior to her eviction, Weza was one of the most popular housemates and going by the shocked looks on the faces of her mates, not a few imagined her sticking it to the very end. Clad in a little red dress that left almost nothing to the imagination and clutching ferociously to her national flag, the femme fatale waved to the crowd of adoring supporters and amidst tears, parried questions from host IK.

Blessed with good looks and sex appeal which she employed to her advantage at every turn, her strategy upon entering the house seemed to be to seduce whoever was unlucky enough to fall for her pseudo-affections and then confuse that person till they eventually lost sight of their goal. And it worked.

For a while.

Her supremely confident nature seemed to rub off on the girls the wrong way as she kept clashing with the ladies in the Heads house. When she was moved to the Tails, she came in spreading lies and rumors about her former Headsmates and upon eventual merging of both houses, was stunned into silence for a while as her deeds seemed to catch up with her.

Always self-serving, she hooked up with Luclay in the Tails house, never minding that he and Karen seemed to have settled into a relationship, albeit a disturbing one. It is in fact a testimony to Karen’s large heart that they still remained friends.

When Luclay finally caught on to her and called it quits, she wasted no time in zeroing in on Ghanian Alex – who seemed to be with Miss P – and threw herself into the mix. Little wonder Africa seemed to be in a fix, booting the three of them out for good measure.

Weza would confess to Big Brother in one breath that she was only rubbing Luclay’s ego the right way and had no intention of dating him. She would then, the next minute swear to Luclay that her feelings for him are real. Up until the night before her eviction, she was still requesting for a kiss from Luclay. Her antics, though entertaining, caused a lot of grief for those involved.

In a season big on excitement, Weza has brought on more than her fair share of Amplified moments. But perhaps the Africa got sick of her wheeling and dealing and demanded something real. It is after all, a reality show and the voting public’s current obsession with Karen proves that maybe all we want to see is not the amplified version but the real you, warts and all.

With Weza’s departure, there is now a vacancy for resident diva, a role she played with relish following Confidence’s departure. Who fills the spot? Karen got much love and respect from the others for sacrificing herself. Could she be a shoo-in? Not if current Head of House Vimbai has anything to say about it. Both of them have it in for the other. Who blinks first? Stay logged on for more from the Amplified experience.
