After several hours of trying, former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Modu Sheriff, has finally gained access into the national secretariat of the party.
Sheriff and his supporters had earlier today stormed the party’s secretariat, demanding to be let in and Sheriff installed as the party chairman based on a court order.
Police officers attached to the secretariat, however, refused them entry into Wadata Plaza.
Sheriff, thereafter, left the secretariat and allegedly met with the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase.
On returning to the secretariat at 1:20pm, he was granted entry into the secretariat after the policemen were withdrawn allegedly on the orders of the IGP.
The former Borno governor is expected to address the press soon.
