Nigeria will continue to support ICC – Buhari

President Buhari on Friday said that Nigeria will continue to support the International Criminal Court, ICC, as much as possible to enable it fulfill its mandate. Receiving the Nigerian-born President of the ICC, Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji at the State House, Abuja, President Buhari appealed to developed countries to take the ICC “more seriously in order to strengthen the rule of law and democracy.”

JAMB to register candidates by NIM in 2020

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says starting from 2020, candidates will register for its examinations with their National Identity Management Number (NIM) to solve the challenges of multiple registration.

Court dismisses application by Justice Ajumogobia seeking to stop trial 

Justice Rilwan Aikawa of a Federal High Court Lagos, Friday, dismissed a preliminary objection by embattled Judge of the court, Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, facing Money Laundering charge. The court held that Ajumogobia is no longer a serving judicial officer and so, could face the criminal charge brought against her by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

PDP dares Buhari, Osinbajo to make their assets public

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice- President Yemi Osinbajo to publicly declare their assets to prove that they are leading the country by example. The party made the challenge in a statement by Diran Odeyemi, its deputy national publicity secretary, on Friday.

Troops kill 15 bandits in Zamfara

Troops of Operation Hadarin Daji have again killed 15 bandits terrorising innocent citizens in Dansadau district of Zamfara. This came hours after the troops announced on Thursday, the killing of 29 bandits in an encounter in Moriki general area in the state.

This was made known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday, in a statement signed by the Acting Force Information Officer, Ayobami Oni-Orisan, a lieutenant.
