Every day on the Nigerian internet, there are people who keep our eyes glued to our phone screens as we read their rants, opinions, perspectives on political and social matters, etc. Sometimes, they are just downright ridiculous. We make it our job to take down the names of these noisemakers.
Too many things have happened in one day in Nigeria and this is how it unfolded:
The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Kpotum Idris, at 8 pm in the night invited the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki to answer allegations that he was actively involved in the robbery case at Offa, Kwara, and about the time when he was supposed to appear before the IG, his convoy was blocked by the Police – the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu‘s residence was also under siege.
This happened – according to unconfirmed reports – so as to stop Saraki and some other Senators from defecting from the APC to the PDP, which Saraki himself mentioned in a statement:
This defection also happened in the House of Representatives, after which the Speaker Yakubu Dogara‘s name was chanted as he entered the House today.
And just as we will always have it, social media has been abuzz.
Here’s our list from today:
1. Atiku Abubakar
‘Troubling and unsettling’ indeed. How can the Commander-in-Chief even allow this to happen in a democratic dispensation? Especially after he promised to have repented?
Ogundamisi has something to say about this:
He is sure a smart politician, just like Kelvin says:
3. Eromo Egbejule
We should actually be shocked. This man promised that he has repented and this is the office of the Senate President we are talking about and the Deputy Senate President. In a democratic nation! Or is it pseudo-democracy?
4. Dipo Awojide
6. Olu Loco
7. Kamaldeen Abdulsalam
8. Naufal Ahmad
9. Omoniyi Israel
10. Gimba Kakanda
Sigh! The truth is that we are tired of these cycle of politicians since 1960!
