Media personality, Toke Makinwa has opined that the only way to move the Nigerian music industry forward is for the musicians to start thinking outside the box.

During a chat with YNaija at the Nigerian entertainment conference, the OAP and Vlogger said: “Nigerian musicians need to get creative, everyone is basically doing the same thing now. They should adopt a unique approach and strike a balance with the song content.”

According to her, there is more to music than sex, money, girls and drugs that the musicians of this generation sing about.

“They should learn to strike a balance between sex, money, drugs…they should sing about other things, music should have its soul and shouldn’t just be limited to that. If they get more creative, and make  the songs have decent lyrics, I believe the industry will move forward” she quipped.
