This blind chicken is clucking lucky to be alive after almost drowning in a swimming pool.

Chooky Wooky’s lifeless feathery body was fished out of the water at her Sydney home after she was blown in by a gust of wind.

Chooky Wooky, who is blind, had been blown by a gust of wind into the water of the family’s pool during a storm.

Owner Roberta Ropa pumped the bird’s chest with her fingers for a staggering three hours as she desperately tried to bring her back to life.

The waterlogged hen eventually responded and woke up, before laying a beautiful new egg to say thank you.

Vets said Chooky Wooky is happy and healthy after the incident.

“Chooky Wooky was floating in the water as stiff as a board. My daughter, Rayna, couldn’t stop crying,” Rapo told DailyTelegraph.com.au.

Revealing that her child was autistic and had a special bond with the bird, Rapo said she tried everything she could to save the hen.

“We had friends around at the time who thought we were crazy and left. But I couldn’t let her die and I took great pleasure in texting them when we brought her back to life,” she added.

Vets said Chooky Wooky is now back to full health.
