And so we witnessed the crowning of Miss Palmchat on Thursday 3rd July 2015 at Yaba College of Technology and it was an entertaining event for the student of Yaba College of Tecnology with Omobaba as the host as Palmchat unveiled the winner of the Miss Palmchat 2014 contest. Miss Monah Chime emerged as the winner with a record-setting 1873510 tiaras. Monah had over 200000 tiaras more than the second place contender.

Speaking with our correspondent the newly crowned Palmchat queen said ‘’I feel privileged, I feel like one out of a million, I feel great to be given this opportunity to showcase myself and my positive attributes. I saw the advert on a Nigeria blog and so I downloaded the app, got people to vote for me and it was pretty an easy process as, I didn’t have to register through any agency or get any form’’

Speaking further Miss Palmchat said She has always wanted to influence students positively, organise shows and conferences to empower and encourage her fellow students and now the opportunity has come.

Also speaking, Mr Henry Ikwuemesi the country manager for Palmchat said Afmobi is the parent company and Palmchat is her main product. Palmchat crowned Miss Monah Chime as the winner and she would be going home with a brand new car, five hundred thousand naira and a brand new Tecno Boom J7 and going forward, every September there would be an event like this. Speaking further, he said this is our way of giving back to the youth, as we have over 2.4million daily users in Nigeria alone. And Nigeria is were we began four and a half years ago with less than 300 users but today we have a large community and this chance was given to us by our Nigerian users so this is our way of giving back to them and we have budgeted for this so we are going to be doing this for the next ten years we intend to go higher and do more than this, for us this is a sustainable project and we will continue giving our Tecno users value. Speaking on how Palmchat intends to stay on top despite competition Mr Henry stated that Palmchat is an app created for Nigerians and Africans at large and Palmchat is Indigenous and that feeling cannot be overruled, Palmchat sprang from home, driven from home and so it would continue to stay on top at home.

Mr Henry also started that there are other exciting event coming up this year.
