3 teens charged with capital murder for killing over Air Jordan sneakers

A young man has lost his life, which is sad to hear, but it is made worse by hearing that the killing was over a pair of sneakers.

Those who have both children and money may need to reconsider whether their money will be spent on shoes which some have called overpriced or if they will encourage their children to put the money they give them towards their education or other more useful avenues.

As tensions continue to rise surrounding the recent release of the new Air Jordan XI sneakers, three young teenagers have been charged with capital murder in connection with the shooting death of another man over the shoes.

Anthony Quinn Wade, Kegan Arrington and Neal Bland reportedly approached Joshua Wood and a friend as they were sitting in his parked car on the morning of December 21 after purchasing a pair of the sneakers and demanded that they hand them over. Woods’ friend managed to exit the car to escape the ambush and seek help, but reported hearing shots fired as he ran to get help.

News One reports that the assailant allegedly tried shooting after Wood’s friend but missed.

According to police, the gunman shot at Woods who had tried to get behind the wheel of the car to escape and managed to drive away but was wounded and wound up fatally crashing between two houses and striking a gas line.

All three men charged with the murder were under the age of 20.
