The suit against a 15 year old girl, Wasila Tasi’u, who murdered her 35 year old husband with rat poison has been dropped by prosecutors.
On Wednesday, May 20, the prosecutor withdrew murder charges against Tas’iu, who killed Umar Sani, who she had just maried.
Prosecutor Lamido Abba Soron-Dinki asked the High Court in Gezawa, Kano state, to terminate the case of culpable homicide against Wasila Tasi’u, who was 14 when she married Umar Sani.
“With a heavy heart, I apply that the accused be discharged,” he said.
