The House intelligence committee plans to interview John Podesta, campaign chairman to Hillary Clinton in 2016 next week, CNN has reported.
Podesta’s hacked email account had became central to Russian meddling in the US election last year.
Multiple sources told CNN that Podesta, who is one of the first major witnesses will meet the panel behind closed doors to determine the extent of Russian involvement in last year’s election.
It was reported that Podesta is one of the six witnesses invited for a classified session.
The committee is expected to question Podesta about the leak of thousands of his emails.
The panel leaders had met behind closed doors this week with special counsel Robert Mueller few days back.
The panel also has set a deadline for Friday to obtain memos from fired FBI Director James Comey about his interactions with Trump.
