It’s no news that the 8th Senate moved a motion to hand Saraki the keys to Aso Rock and he graciously turned them down.
The general thinking is this is simply a dress rehearsal, before the curtains rise.
Twitter NG has a few thoughts about the drama. See below:
Sneaky bastards
The National Assembly headed by Saraki now wants to do every other organ's work EXCEPT it's own. Sons and Daughters of shame.

Corruption, is when we cannot find our elected president, and the Senate wants to replace him with Bukola Saraki! #WhatIsCorruption?

Buhari has been away for 60 days, nobody tabled a motion to declare him unfit.
Osinbajo travels to do his job… Hey! Look at a motion!— Amara Nwankpa (@Nwankpa_A) July 5, 2017
If we are really worried about constitutional gap in leadership, why not move to give the country an actual president?

Testing! Testing!
Saraki should not take Nigerians for fools. We understand what he is doing
— Eunice Etido (@alaenyi) July 5, 2017
Saraki is testing the Microphone.

Power pass power
As it is now, Bukola Saraki is a more powerful and influential politician compared to the Bourdillon Lagos Champion and ojugo merchant.

Whn will Nigerians rise up against @bukolasaraki's impunity? Saraki has proven to be Nigerian's number one enemy. Are we still in dark ages?

The most powerful Senate in the world is the Nigerian Senate. They can summon Putin, Trump and even Ayatollah.
Crazy mad egocentric idiots!
— Ayekooto (@DeeOneAyekooto) July 5, 2017
The conspiracy thickens
Pls re-tweet if you're going to defend the constitutionally recognized AgPresident, PYO against Saraki's trolls. https://t.co/TMr4OyEKCF

Not our president
If you love Nigeria, don't ever pray for a Saraki presidency. Please don't!
— Dayo Ibitoye (@DayoIbitoye) July 5, 2017
Bukola Saraki = Ayo Fayose, imagine either of these guys becoming Nigeria's President. Just imagine it!
They will destroy Nigeria in a day
— Jeff Okoroafor (@JeffOkoroafor) July 5, 2017
Hold your horses
Even if Saraki becomes president the constitution is clear.
He holds the office for 3months pending fresh elections.

Not a bad idea
Osinbajo, Saraki… Not bad.
But what is Chief of Army Staff Buratai looking for, wearing a suit and appearing on an Int'l Media programme?
— Demola Olarewaju (@DemolaRewaju) July 5, 2017
Hmmmm.
What anxiety? personally, i am not bothered. they can do what they like. the country belongs to them alone now. I don’t blame them. I blame the docility of Nigerians.
