APC Elders to Tompolo: ‘Surrender to EFCC’

by Emeka Nwankwo

Elders in Bayelsa State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, on Saturday, called on Government ‘Tompolo’ Ekpemupolo to surrender to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for questioning over the alleged 13 billion naira fraud.

YNaija had earlier reported that Tompolo, who is a former Niger Delta militant leader, had a warrant issued for him to answer allegations of fraud and money laundering.

Tompolo, however, failed to answer the invitation of the EFCC preferring instead to write a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari wherein he explained his role in the alleged fraud.

He has also denied involvement in the recent spate of vandalism of oil installations and blamed Former Governor Timipre Sylva for the vandalisms.

However, a member of the APC Elders group, Chief Arerebo Bodi, said it was imperative that Tompolo honours the EFCC’s request instead of blaming Former Governor Timipre Sylva and the Bayelsa state APC.

The group also called on the Timi Frank, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, to apologize for his unfavorable comments about the leadership of APC in the state.
