New Year Gift! Award winning film ‘Anchor Baby,’ now available online

Multiple award-winning Nigerian/Canadian blockbuster film “Anchor Baby” directed by Lonzo Nzekwe has achieved another feat.  Movie lovers who missed out on seeing the film in the cinema can now view it online via the ‘Video On Demand’ link on the website, www.anchorbabymovie.com for only $4.99.

Folks who prefer renting the film will have access to watch the movie 5 times within 30 days. Movie lovers can also visit the online portal to watch the full movie instantly in HD quality.

‘Anchor Baby’ raked in close to 18 million Naira in box office receipts and has been shortlisted by the British Academy of Film and Television (BAFTA) for possible nomination at the 2012 awards.

The movie is set in the United States and stars Nollywood actress, Omoni Oboli alongside a cast of international movie stars. It tells the story of a married illegal immigrant couple living in the US, Joyce and Paula Unanga. They are ordered by the US immigration to leave the country by voluntary departure. They agree to leave but only after Joyce who is 5 months pregnant delivers her baby inside the US, as this will guarantee automatic citizenship for their child.

‘Anchor Baby’ was pronounced the Best Film at the Harlem International Film Festival in New York City and won an award of merit at the Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood.
