Nigeria’s female football team, the Super Falcons on Saturday thrashed Kenya 4-0 in their final group game at the African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON).
The Falcons opened the scoring in the third minute through Ngozi Okobi with a strike from outside the box. Faith Ikidi made it two in the sixth minute as she connected with a free-kick by Ugo Njoku.
The first half ended two nil. Asisat Oshoala made it three in the 52nd minute, as she increased her tally to six in the tournament.
Desire Oparanozie came off the bench to make it four for the Falcons in the 88th minute.
The Super Falcons will now face South Africa’s Bayana Bayana on Tuesday November 29 in the semi final of the competition.
