AY’s ‘A Trip to Jaimaca’ breaks Guinness World Record set by ’30 Days in Atlanta’

A Trip to Jamaica, a movie by Nigerian Comedian, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY has broken the Guinness World Record for movies showing in cinemas in the country.

The movies beat the likes of Hollywood blockbusters, Batman VS. Superman, Captain America, Suicide Squad, Central Intelligence, and a host of others.

This feat makes it the second year in a row a movie by AY will be the highest earning film in the cinemas. In 2015, his movie, ’30 Days in Atlanta’ was the highest earning in the cinemas grossing over one hundred and fifty million naira in revenue.

Sharing the news on his Instagram page on Monday, AY thanked everyone for going to the cinemas.

He wrote, “COMEDIAN AY BREAKS HIS OWN ‘30 DAYS IN ATLANTA’ GUINNESS WORLD RECORD WITH ‘A TRIP TO JAMAICA’

“The movie has beaten the box office revenues of all the big budget Hollywood Titles released in 2016 here in Nigeria. These includes BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN, CAPTAIN AMERICA, SUICIDE SQUAD, LONDON HAS FALLEN, GODS OF EGYPT, TRANSPORTER, DOCTOR STRANGE, TARZAN, MAGNIFICENT 7 and CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE.

“Thanks to you all for going to the cinemas to see Nollywood movies.”
