Bayelsa: President Jonathan arrives ahead of election with mother and wife

PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN HAS ARRIVED YENAGOA, THE BAYELSA STATE CAPITAL AHEAD OF THE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION SCHEDULED TO TAKE PLACE TOMORROW.

THE PRESIDENT WHO ARRIVED AT 3.30 PM IN COMPANY OF HIS WIFE, DAME PATIENCE JONATHAN AND MOTHER, WAS RECEIVED BY THE BAYELSA STATE ACTING GOVERNOR, NESTOR BINABOR AND SOME OF THE STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEMBERS, AT THE HELIPAD, GOVERNMENT HOUSE, YENAGOA AND LATER USHERED INTO THE PRESIDENTIAL LODGE OF THE GOVERNMENT HOUSE.

IT IS EXPECTED THAT DR. JONATHAN WILL EXERCISE HIS FRANCHISE TOMORROW AT HIS HOMETOWN, OTUEKE IN OGBIA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF THE STATE.

MEANWHILE THE BAYELSA STATE INEC PULIC RELATIONS OFFICER, MR TIMITEI WARIOWEI HAS EXPRESSED THE OPTIMISM AND READINESS OF THE COMMISSION TO CONDUCT THE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION IN THE STATE, ON SATURDAY.

HE MADE THIS KNOWN WHILE ANSWERING QUESTIONS FROM NEWS MEN IN HIS OFFICE FRIDAY.

THE INEC OFFICIAL SAID THAT THE COMMISSION HAS RECEIVED ALL THE MATERIALS MEANT TO BE USED IN THE ELECTION AND POINTED OUT THAT THEY WILL SOON BE DISTRIBUTED AMONG THE ELECTORAL OFFICERS AT THE VARIOUS LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS, FROM WHERE THEY WILL BE DISPATCHED TO THE POLLING CENTRES.

ADHOC STAFF AND OFFICIALS OF THE ELECTION HAVE NOW BEEN DEPLOYED TO THEIR VARIOUS STATIONS AHEAD OF THE EXCERCISE.
