Who would have thought we could make musicals? Nollywood keeps getting better and better, and the new movie, Inale is proof that much better things lie ahead in the movie industry. Directed by veteran Jeta Amata, and produced by Keke Ikwue, Inale, the first musical to be made in Nigeria features the music of legendary Bongus Iwke.
Obi Asika, CEO of Storm 360 which is a supporter of the movie project says: “Storm 360 is proud to bring this project to the attention of the world. This is important work, a collaboration of the genius of Bongus Ikwue, his daughter Keke, our friends and international stars Hakeem Kae-Kazeem and Caroline Chikezie, and the enduring talent of Dede Mabiaku. I have known Jeta Amata since 1992 when we were producing content together for Clapperboard, and I am proud of all of them.”
Inale premieres in Lagos on October 22nd at the Palms and on Oct 28th in Abuja. It has also been admitted to show at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2011.
In the words of Asika, “this movie is worthy of celebration and harbours the beginning of a higher level of movie making here in Nigeria”.
