Hector “Macho” Camacho can’t rest in peace just yet.

A catfight involving the slain boxing legend’s alleged lover, his official girlfriend and sisters marred Tuesday’s wake in honor of the former world champion at the Puerto Rico Department of Sports and Recreation.

The somber atmosphere took a violent turn when Cynthia Castillo, a local woman claiming to be Camacho’s partner at the time of his death, removed the casket veil covering his face and kissed him on the mouth, El Nuevo Dia of Puerto Rico reported.

Adding injury to perceived insult, Castillo then walked directly past the section reserved for Camacho’s family, setting off the fury of Gloria Fernández – who also claims to be the boxer’s last girlfriend – along with sisters Esther and Estrella.

Mourners and camera-wielding journalists looked on as the women punched and clawed at each other in a fight that spilled out of the VIP area and into the hallways, as police had to get involved to split up both sides.

Fernandez and Camacho’s sisters eventually returned to the service while Castillo was escorted out – but not before telling her side of the story.

“I went to get something to eat, and his ex girlfriend (Fernandez) came up to me and told me that I had to  leave. I said ‘no,’ so they threw my plate of food and attacked me, and I defended myself,” Castillo, sporting a fresh gash below her neck, told reporters.

“They need to thank me, because unlike them, I was always by ‘Macho’s’ side.”

Cynthia Castillo says that she, not Fernandez, was Camacho’s girlfriend. ‘Anyone who doesn’t like it will have to swallow it.’

Camacho’s mother, Maria Mathias, painted a far different picture of Castillo.

“That girl was dangerous. The police were after her.”

The fight only added more stress for the inconsolable mother, who earlier in the day was seen grieving over her son’s casket while screaming, “They killed him!”

Camacho, a former super featherweight, lightweight and junior welterweight champion, was shot on Nov. 20 while sitting in a parked car with a friend outside a bar in his hometown of Bayamon. He died three days later at the age of 50 after being taken off life support.

Camacho’s body will be flown to New York later this week for burial at Saint Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx on Saturday.
