The Federal Government said it has identified and compiled a list of tax evaders, some of whom own houses abroad.

Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun disclosed this at the national economic council meeting on Thursday.

What Adeosun said:

• Adeosun said their tax compliance status at home will be determined.
• She added that they can take advantage of the Voluntary Assets & Income Declaration Scheme (VAIDS) to pay their tax debt.

“Letters would soon be going out to these Nigerians, including a number of prominent ones, asking them to take advantage of the tax amnesty in order to avoid prosecution and fines by simply paying up their tax defaults,” she said.
