In case there is any doubt as to where Cubans originated from, the Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria, Carlos Sosa has set the records straight.
Sosa, while receiving Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife at the the embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Abuja on Tuesday, February 23, said that the Ooni of Ife is the spiritual father of most Cubans in the world.
The Ambassador said: “Ooni is the Spiritual father of most of us Cubans all over the world because 90 percent of Cubans are black Africans and a very large portion of us originated from Yorubaland which is spiritually headed by Ooni of Ife.”
He further revealed that Cubans originated from the home of Yorubaland, Ile-Ife stating that it is a fact they cannot erase.
In addition to his revelation, Sosa spoke on the potentials for tourism within Nigeria.
He described the ancient city of Ile-Ife as home to many tourist attractions which if developed to international standard would help the nation grow economically.
