“You exposed the Chibok girls to avoidable danger” “For 15 years, Buhari was banned from the US” | Read our top 10 quotes from last week

Last week, the gloves came off. As if to give credence to the rumour that he’s left the APC for PDP, Atiku revealed that Buhari was not allowed into the US for a good number of years on account of his extreme religious views. GEJ, the former President of Nigeria, was put off by Governor Shettima blaming him for Boko Haram’s devastation of Borno state, so he exposed the Governor’s role in the capture of the Chibok girls.

Our top 10 quotes from last week are full of revelations:

Abike Dabiri-Erewa

“NEMA, my office, IOM told Nigerians to avoid Libya, it is deadly, it is dangerous, don’t go there.”

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora has refused to embark on the guilt trip Nigerians are hellbent on sending her to, for standing by while our citizens were auctioned as slaves in Libya, after all, she warned them.

Amaechi Rotimi

Tricycles and motorcycles are important in the area of provision of essential and easy to reach transportation all over the country.

Finally, someone speaks up in defence of the masses.

Adeseye Ogunlewe

A poor person has no business in politics. A poor man cannot win an election in Nigeria; how would you campaign? If you are poor, stay in your house,”

Just in case you haven’t stacked those millions and you’re thinking of a career in politics, think again.

Senator Olusola Adeyeye

I don’t want deficit budget. If we don’t want it and we want to slash the budget of N8 trillion to N4 trillion, some things must give way including the allowances of all politicians.

Can someone please give the good Senator a medal for bravery?

Kemi Adeosun

“The only condition necessary is that the money will be paid to the whistleblower who signed the agreement. Not to any company.”

That’s the Minister of Finance last word on the matter.

Abubakar Magaji

“I am the permanent secretary, head of administration and I take responsibility for any administrative wrongdoing that Ministry of Interior has done.”

Wow! A rare display of leadership from the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Abubakar Magaji. Gotta say, we thought this merry go round over Maina’s reinstatement will last through Christmas. We didn’t expect someone to cave in so soon.

Goodluck Jonathan

“He should be able to tell us if it was Jonathan’s poor choices that led the Governor to expose students of Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok to avoidable danger, in total disregard of a Federal Government directive to the Governors in the three states most affected by Boko Haram to relocate their students writing the West African School Certificate Examinations to safe zones.”

Who angered GEJ like this, that he vomited this sort of vitriol? And to think this is just the tip of the iceberg. It appears Governor Shettima did not choose his opponent well.

Governor Shettima

“But personally, I have no desire to contest for any position, not even senatorial. I want to go back to school, earn a PhD, learn French.”

Strange words for a Nigerian politician to utter. Is Governor Shettima being bogged down by guilt, perhaps? Did GEJ’s arrows strike true?

Bukola Saraki

I said sir, they’ve taken it to another level. Now, they get an order to bring in products they don’t want to make 10 or 20 percent anymore. They will get an offer to bring in a cargo of 20,000 litres, they will bring in 5,000 litres to be stamped for 20,000 litres and instead of making 10 percent, they make ten times the amount. I was telling the President, thinking the President would get very agitated. But Jonathan said: ‘Senator Saraki, you know this oil business is very oily.’

That’s a portion of Saraki’s tale, explaining the sort of complacency and unintelligence Jonathan brought with him to power.

Buhari

This fictive concoction being passed off as truth is mind-boggling, coming from a former Number Two man of Nigeria, who should know the truth.

At no time was President Buhari, as a private person, ever forbidden from entering any country in the world.

Someone said nothing is true until they start denying it.
