There home of the governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun located at the Housing Estate, Ibara, Abeokuta was yesterday gutted by fire.

The exact cause of the fire is unknown but sources say the fire started when the air conditioning system in one of the rooms sparked an caught fire.

The inferno was quickly brought under control by men of the fire service but not until extensive damage was done to one of the bedrooms, with all personal effects, and the kitchen completely burnt down.

There has been no official statement from the government over the unfortunate incident but the state commissioner for information and strategy, Yusuf Olaniyonu was seen at the location of the unfortunate fire incident.

The house is reportedly being occupied by the governor’s elder brother, Alhaji Abidoye Amosun and his immediate family.
