For Poets: Father’s Princess

by WriterSpeaksPoetry

What a delight she was to behold

Little Ana knew she looked beautiful

She waltzed into church in her lovely gown

Fully made up, glowing, revelling in d attention

Looking at her, Father was tempted to keep her little

If that would preserve this beauty, self esteem & confidence she displayed

How many daughters he had lost to the world’s expectations

How many lived only to become brides

How many scoffed his will just to change surnames

How many eargerly sought replacements for his love

Ana will grow & have to choose between the world & his word

He tatooed her on his palms – a very painful act just to show how much she meant to Him

He installed a tracking device just to ensure He’s with her 24-7

He made her complete, perfect, nothing lacking

She’s his princess – the one he loves

She’s his princess – with all her struggles

She’s his princess – with / without a husband

She’s his princess, his special one

No one else is like her – she was made perfect

No demands just worship

I am Father’s Princess

I live to please Him

I am Father’s princess

Complete even when my family thinks I need a man

I am my Father’s princess

My eyes remain on Him

I am my Father’s princess

living for Him is what I do

I am my Father’s princess

A Princess to the King of kings
