From the Magazine: The taste of orchid – A Review of Orchid Bistro

Name: Orchid Bistro

Location: Isaac John Street, Ikeja GRA

Category: Hangout

You are likely to miss Orchid Bistro when you drive along Isaac-John. Well if you do, I can assure you that you have indeed missed a great deal. Orchid seats in a small corner of the Green-Ville compound and I think this is perfect for just the right amount of privacy.

The outdoor section is surrounded with vases of exotic flower, as you’d normally see in the fancy restaurants on Keeping up with the Kardashians. It is set in a way almost determined to be especially romantic.

The indoor section is quite the opposite; it is cosy, neat and with sophisticatedly done white decor. Just by the entrance is a show glass containing mouth-watering appetizers that call your attention. There is a certain unexplainable feel, whether it is the understated music or the delicious aroma that fills the air, it allows you to be expectant.

When it comes to the food, the menu is extensive, boasting of a variety of meals (ethnic and intercontinental) that are very well done. The food tastes the same each time, not to suggest monotony but consistency and the implication of authentic recipes. There is simply no room for disappointment.

The customer service is also remarkable. The waiters are adequately polite and attentive.  However, customers might find the delay between ordering a meal and getting it rather annoying. For some reason, there is always a time lag even for orders as uncomplicated as a brownie and ice-cream. It spoils what is otherwise an amazing experience.
