The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested eight secondary school students, for being cult members.
The suspected cultists- five boys and three girls- who are between the ages of 14 and 16, belong to the Eiye fraternity.
Vanguard reports that the leader of the gang had sex with the female members as part of their initiation into the group.
While parading the students in Akure, the State Commander of the NSCDS, Ayinla Adeyinka disclosed that a former student returned to the school to initiate the under-aged students.
Ayinla further revealed that the students held their meeting every Friday, inside the forest within the school premises.
“The former student of the secondary schools was the one that came to the school to persuade the students to join his group. He had sex with the female ones to initiate them.”
While speaking with journalists, one of the female suspect confessed that three of them were initiated by her boyfriend who is a student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo identified as ‘Sergeant’
She said: “He had sex with the three of us in his house and after the sex he inflicted cuts in our hands to take our blood and told us that we had joined his group.”
