Here it is! ASUU displays signed agreement with FG (LOOK, READ)

The president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Nasir Isa Fagge, has publicly declared that the nationwide strike that had lasted for over 5 months is finally over.

He made the announcement today, after the meeting which was held yesterday by the ASUU National Executive Committee (NEC), at the Federal University of Technology, Minna in Niger State.

The Union also released copies of the agreement it signed last week Wednesday during its meeting with the Federal Government.

The different chapters of ASUU are expected to hold congress meetings on Wednesday following which academic activities will resume in the universities.

The meeting was to deliberate over the agreement signed Wednesday, last week, by union executives and the federal government.

The NEC meeting, was attended by ASUU branch chairmen and secretaries, the national executive members of the Union, coordinators and past leaders, including members from 52 universities.

Public universities lecturers have been on strike since July 1, 2013.
