Hero Dog: Meet the family pit bull that saves baby from kidnappers during a burglary

A pit bull played hero during a home invasion in Indiana.

The family dog stopped a pair of armed robbers from making off with a three-month-old infant after the thieves broke inside an Indianapolis home, demanding money from the terrified mother.

Nayeli Garzon-Jimenez was on the phone with her husband Tuesday morning when a man and woman started trying to get in the the back door, WISH-TV reported.

“I told her, go check, who is it because I’m already at my job,” said Adolfo Angeles-Morales, Garzon-Jimenez’s husband.

“In the same second, I hear the noise over my phone and she started screaming and crying, and said, someone just stuck their hand in the door,” he explained.

The two intruders demanded money from Garzon-Jimenez, who doesn’t speak English.

But the frightened mother understood that the pair were looking to rob her of cash and then the woman grabbed her tiny baby girl.

“She fought with the lady, because she tried to go by the kitchen, and she held her by the shirt. Then guy come back and hit her with a gun,” Angeles-Morales said.

As the woman tried to flee the house with the baby, a large, gray pit bull stepped in, snarling and chasing the would-be kidnapper back inside.

“One of the doggies- he didn’t let her go through the back door,” said Angeles-Morales.

The robber threw the baby back at her mother and the two criminals fled in a brown van, Angeles-Morales said on behalf of his wife.
