You hate hearing stories like this one, but we’ve got to share it. A three year old boy inexplicably fell four stories to his death this week, as his neighbors in the Bronx watched in horror. They tried to save the boy, but got there too late.
Little Gabriel Estevez screamed and cried for help as he dangled from the building. Neighbors ran to try to catch the boy, but no one was able help him.
“He was screaming for help. By the time we got across the street he had already fell,” said neighbor Frank White.
The little boy died at the hospital. His neighbor tried to do CPR on him, but he wasn’t responsive. The boy was described as friendly by his neighbors, as they worked to understand this horrible tragedy.
“I joke and laugh with him every day,” said neighbor Francisco Valdes. “He’s my little man. I miss his little soul.”
The boy’s mother is understandably distraught over the incident, unable to speak with reporters or anyone about what happened.
“His mom keeps screaming his name,” said the boy’s aunt. “He was a kid that everybody loved because he was sweet to everybody. He was a really happy child.”
The boy’s mother wasn’t home when he died, and the father was working. Police are still investigating the incident.
