How Niger deputy governor escaped death in fatal car accident

The Niger state deputy governor, Hon. Ahmed Musa Ibeto on Saturday escaped death in a vehicle accident which claimed two lives.

The accident reportedly happened along Minna-Kagara road around 10:30am

The deputy governor was said to have been on his way to attend the closing ceremony of the state Qur’anic recitation competition.

Sources say the two people who died where riding on a motorcycle behind the deputy governor’s car when it suddenly applied its breaks to avoid a pothole. Both motorcycles reportedly hit Ibeto’s car from behind  and somersaulted  before landing on the bonnet of the deputy governor’s escort vehicle.

A motorcyclist died on the spot while the other was taken to a nearby hospital where he was also confirmed dead.

The police public relations officer (PPRO), Pius Edobor, confirmed the unfortunate incident.
