Three Philadelphia, Pennsylvania teens have been charged with numerous felonies after a Christmas day attack on a woman that left her traumatized.
Kevin Jones, 17 (pictured left), Kewon Matthews, 17 (pictured center), and Brehon Rawlings, 19 (pictured right), were arrested in connection with the crime. According to court documents, around 11:40pm on Christmas Day, the three young men violently forced their way into a Jeep Cherokee driven by a 22-year-old female.
She was sitting in her SUV in the parking lot of George’s Water Ice, near the intersection of Grace Rd. and Marshall Rd. She was waiting for her boyfriend to come out of a bar nearby. Suddenly, three teenagers forced their way into her vehicle. One of the teens brandished a firearm.
They forced the woman into the back seat of the SUV and drove her around Philadelphia for around five hours. One by one, the teens took turns raping and sodomizing the 22-year-old woman in the back seat of the SUV.
In addition to being repeatedly sexually assaulted, the young woman was violently beaten. She was also robbed of her Coach purse, a wallet, a car stereo, a cellphone, a camera, a GPS, a ruby ring, a diamond necklace, a bracelet and her insurance and registration paperwork.
After ravaging through her belongings, the teens realized that the young woman had a 2-year-old daughter. They then threatened to kill her and her child if she reported anything to the police. Then the teens parked the car at Long Lane near Marshall Road and told the woman they would throw the keys under the car. The suspects fled on foot after the ordeal.
After waiting for several minutes, the female victim exited car, took her keys from underneath the car and drove to her boyfriend’s house. Together, they went the authorities to report the incident around 5:30 a.m.
The three teens were subsequently arrested and charged with kidnapping, first degree robbery, rape, and sodomy. They are all in police custody and being held on a $500,000 bond.
