About the NLI Associate Programme

Every year, NLI hosts 3-day residential Future Leaders Seminars (FLS) as a prerequisite for individuals who wish to join NLI’s Associate Programme. The FLS is held in May and October each year for emerging public and private sector leaders aged 25 to 35 years and based in Nigeria or the Diaspora. At the end of each seminar, participants are inducted as Associates of NLI.

Moderators and speakers at NLI’s last seminar included: Mr. Bisi Onasanya (MD, First Bank of Nigeria Plsc), Mrs. Bola Adesola (NLI Fellow and MD, Standard Chartered Bank), Mr. Jimi Morgan, (NLI Fellow and Financial Analyst), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai (NLI Fellow and former FCT Minister), Mrs. Maryam Uwais (NLI Fellow & Principal Partner, Wali-Uwais & Co) and Mr. Asue Ighodalo (NLI Fellow and Managing Partner, Banwo & Ighodalo).

The next seminar is scheduled for October 27th – 29th at the Protea Hotel, Oakwood Park, Lekki, Lagos.  NLI will cover all direct costs during the seminar including accommodation, feeding, seminar materials and travel (for those coming from out of the country or out of Lagos). Each class is highly competitive and only 50 individuals are selected each year drawn from Nigeria and the Diaspora.  Previous classes have drawn participants from Nigeria, United Kingdom, United States, Hong Kong, South Africa, Kenya and many other countries.
