“I got jealous of Kanye West” – Casper Nyovest

South African Hip Hop heavyweight, Casper Nyovest has always aspired to one day, sell out the 20,000 capacity Coca Cola Dome arena in Johannesburg, South Africa.

And he did that in spectacular fashion a few weeks ago, to become the first local artiste to achieve the feat.

Speaking to YNaija at the recent AFRIMA Awards, Casper revealed that Kanye West was the inspiration behind his historical achievement.

He said: “It started with me watching Kanye West perform at the Dome and I felt a bit Jealous. I asked myself why can’t I do this in my own country?”

The Doc Shabaleza rapper however, got a little frightened at some point during preparations for the show but revealed that his manager put him in check.

He said: “I got scared when I went to book the venue and saw how actually big it was. I got a little bit scared but T-Lee Moiloa, my manager talked to me and said ‘you are going to this, let do this’.”

The rapper, who won two awards at the AFRIMA Awards, recently released a new single, Cooking in the Kitchen with American rapper, The Game.
