Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun has disowned reports that she said something against the Igbos.
In a tweet from a cloned Twitter account, Adeosun reportedly said she is “happy that the Igbos are becoming insignificant in Nigeria’s financial system and by 2023, will be insignificant in the South East and Nigeria in general.”
However, in a series of tweets, Adeosun disassociated herself from the tweets saying it was photoshopped.
She wrote, “There’s a fake Twitter post circulating in my name, suggesting that I said something derogatory about Igbos. Kindly disregard it.
“It’s nothing but a shoddy attempt to photoshop a hateful statement onto my Twitter handle. I did not say or tweet any such thing. Thank you.
“Every part of Nigeria is important to our financial system & our Economy, and as a Govt we will support ALL to achieve their full potential.”
