by Sola Fasasi

Inale, the groundbreaking movie, is the first musical to be produced on Nigerian soil. The movie premiered on Friday the 23rd of October, 2010 at Genesis Deluxe Cinemas at the Palms Mall, Lekki, Lagos.

Inale features an A-list cast, most of whom were in attendance – Dede Mabiaku, Keppy Ekpenyoung, Omawumi Megbele, Ini Edo, Director Jeta Amata and Co-producer Keke Ikwue. Other notable guests such as actor Desmond Elliot and Wazobia FM’s Matse Uwatse as well as many others showed up to support the movie.

The legendary Bongus Ikwue serenaded guests as they milled around the red carpet, and then they proceeded into the theatre for the main event. The movie was well received by the audience, with loads of laughter and applause, and the ever-so-often hilarious side comment. The ambience at the event was a perfect blend of traditional and glamorous, with decor and hors d’oeuvres that matched Inale’s indigenous theme.
