A 911 caller says his girlfriend is on fire. Cue the laugh track.
Lalo Delgado was outraged when he reported the horrific emergency and heard an Arizona dispatcher chuckle.
“My car just kinda caught on fire, and my girlfriend caught on fire,” Delgado says on the 911 recording.
He and the girlfriend were stranded on a rural road outside of Tucson, KGUN 9 reported.
“Is your girlfriend still on fire?” the Pima County Sheriff’s dispatcher asks.
He tells her “no” and hears laughter in the background.
“OK,” says the dispatcher, chuckling. “Umm …”
“It’s hilarious, huh?” Delgado says.
When she tries to brush him off, he calls her out.
“I just heard you smirk …” he says.
“Okay, sir, it wasn’t regarding that, okay?” the dispatcher says.
Delgado later called back, just to make sure they took him seriously.
A Pima County Sheriff’s spokesman said the department is now investigating the incident.
