Man charged to court for kidnap of a 10-year-old in Oshogbo

A 37-year- old man Nurudeen Adeniyi was yesterday arraigned before an Osogbo chief magistrate court for allegedly kidnapping a 10 year old boy identified as Sikiru Salam on 30th of September, 2012 at  about 8:00 p.m. at Ibokun Road in Osogbo.

Nurudeen allegedly kidnapped the boy by pretending that he knew him.

The police prosecutor, Sergeant Oladoye Joshua told the court that the accused has committed an offence contrary to and punishable under the laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.

However, the accused person pleaded not guilty to the two count charges of kidnapping and felony.

The defence counsel, Barrister Nnena Ngwu prayed the court to grant the accused bail on the most liberal term.

Delivering his ruling, the presiding magistrate Adewumi Makanjuola admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N250, 000 with two sureties who must swear to an affidavit of means, one of the sureties must have Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) with two clear photographs each.

Magistrate Makanjuola thereafter adjourned the case till 5th November, 2012.
