“Life has so many opportunities; Not all of them are good ones.”

The beauty of life in 2014 starts with the paths you choose. The path you take in life this year determines whether you’re focused or distracted. You are free to choose  whatever you want, but you must understand that you are not free from the consequence of your choice.

One of the most expensive responsibilities of our life either as a person, people, or nation is choice. Not only does it cost in terms of the stressful effect of people, situations or things involved; It also cost in terms of lost opportunity, poor self-confidence and the potentially gripping cost of factors going against you.

It is not surprising that many people would prefer not to choose at all. But even that itself is a choice, and the consequences of indecision is even far more frightening. Choice is most necessary when people need to make any meaningful advancement.

Life, as they say, is like a suitcase…some people pack more into theirs than others and when the difficult decisions are to be made, the hard choices have to be faced; A useful antidote here is to think of those unborn and how our choices might affect them. While growing up, some of us were usually told never to underestimate the reach of our actions and the energy they posses. It’s all about choice. Choice is a force that can produce change in any situation or sphere of existence.

The beauty of life in 2014 starts with the paths you choose. The path you take in life this year determines whether you’re focused or distracted. You are free to choose whatever you want, but you must understand that you are not free from the consequence of your choice.

Decisions can be really tough sometimes, but one question you should always bear in mind is “will the decisions you make before the end of the year push you towards purpose or pull you farther away?” Qualitative instead of quantitative should be a major factor. This is very fundamental because the choice you make will put your future at stake. Every choice you make defines your future. The possibilities are endless.

Life has so many opportunities; Not all of them are good ones. Foolish choices lead to foolish outcomes. Good health for instance is not by chance, it is by choice. Some people want it all but the truth is you can’t have it all, in life you need to make sacrifices.

Power, money, and sex as they say, are the big temptations. We don’t fall into temptations, we choose what we do. You can make better choices. Every decision you’ve made or ignored so far has brought you where you are in life right now.

You have three choices in life; The right choice, the wrong choice, and the wise choice. There is the easy way, there is the right way and then there is the wise way. It’s all about choice.

The process of coming to a decision in any case involves weighing up a range of factors and applying the most appropriate actions. One thing we must note in this regard in choosing whatever paths we want our life to take is the need to get information.

Dr. Paul Enenche puts it better when he said; “Your relevance is the function of your knowledge. What you know determines the edge you have. Knowledge is power”. This simply implies that people are most comfortable doing or speaking about things that they are most informed about. Your focus is to be well informed.

Other people, depending on who you let in your life, can either influence you towards the will of God or away from it. The people you surround yourself with will influence you the most. It’s simple; Good friends will encourage you to do good, and bad friends will make you want to do bad.

I’ll conclude with an astute remark from Wayne Dyer when he said; “Be miserable or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it’s always your choice.” And I add that take it or leave it: it’s your choice. Either way, there’s no middle ground.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
