CBN to fund research on Nigeria’s coronavirus vaccine

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele has disclosed that the apex bank will be funding a research for a Nigerian Coronavirus vaccine.

The CBN Governor disclosed this at the unveiling of THISDAY Dome testing, tracing, and treatment centre on Tuesday in Abuja. He said they are currently designing a framework which includes grants and long term facilities for “researchers, science institutions and biotechnology firms to develop the Nigerian Vaccine.”

Gombe discharges 39 coronavirus patients from isolation centers

39 Coronavirus patients have been discharged in Gombe state after undergoing a successful treatment at the isolation center in the state.

Gombe’s state Chairman of the taskforce on COVID-19, Idris Mohammed said the patients were discharged yesterday, after their results returned negative from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Supreme Court affirms Ifeanyi Ubah’s election as senator

The election of Ifeanyi Ubah as the senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District has been upheld by the Supreme Court.

The lawsuit filed by Chief Chris Uba and Dr Obinna Uzor challenging the election of Ifeanyi Ubah was struck out by the Supreme Court on grounds of the Federal High Court in Abuja where the case began, lacking the territorial jurisdiction to entertain the case.
